I purchased the Kindle edition because I have my iPad connected to a monitor and play my music that way. It's easier to turn pages on a Kindle book. I was really disappointed in the Kindle format. Bach Inventions are not lengthy pieces. However, each one took two to three pages. For example, #13 took three pages. I could only view half of it at one time (Image 1) as opposed to just scanning my physical Shirmer's book copy (Image 2) so that I don't have to turn any pages. Again, they're short pieces. Requiring someone to turn a page is ridiculous! If you're looking for something academic, this is pretty good. If you're actually wanting to play the pieces, purchase Shirmer's music book for Bach Two-Part Inventions and scan the invention you're wanting, if you need it to be a digital copy. I'm sorry the Shirmer book wasn't available as a digital download.

This edition is my favorite for students, because suggested articulations are in light gray to distinguish from the original music. Fingerings are usually very good.

This is a great edition of Bach's inventions, at the begining I thought that I had wasted my money because you can find these sheets everywhere in the web but when I saw the quality of the printing I got totally surprised, the information at the begining of the book is incredible and the CD has excellent interpretations of the Bach's pieces, Buy it, you will be totally happy with it.

The CD provides an example of how the work sounds on a modern instrument. Of use for all early players, of any age, who are attempting to learn keyboard technique that is presumably similar to what was used in the Baroque period.

Good detail in the supporting notes. My only complaint is that the cover cardboard is very thin and is easily bent or creased.

I particularly like the explanatory notes and background information. Writing out the notation of each ornament was just what I needed. Very clear.

Ambassador Zindzi Mandela is a South African freedom fighter, diplomat, writer, speaker, cultural advocate and favorite Grandma. She is the last born child of Mrs Winnie Madikizela- Mandela and President Nelson Mandela, and was only 18 months old when her father went to prison. In 1985, when she was 25 years old, she read Nelson Mandela's famous refusal to accept the offer of conditional release from President P. W. Botha to a packed football stadium in Soweto, saying his words, 'I cannot and will not give any undertaking at a time when I and you, the people, are not free.' The Ambassador lives in Copenhagen where she serves as South Africa's ambassador to Denmark.Zazi Mandela (8) and Ziwelene Mandela (6) are the great-grandchildren of Mrs. Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and President Nelson Mandela. Zazi is a storyteller and an aspiring performer. Ziwelene is a storyteller and a maverick. Sean Qualls is an award winning, Brooklyn-based, children’s book illustrator, artist and author. Great book! My granddaughter loves it.

I found this to be a little on the dry side. As an adult, I can appreciate the interesting topic and historical significance but my children did not seem to be able to make it through to the end of the book.It tells the story of Nelson Mandela and his wife and is written by his daughter. She is answering questions from her grandchildren about her parents life and her life. The questions are poignant the answers are clear and concise but for a children's book, it seems to lack just a little of the touches that make it interesting to younger kids. It kind of feels like you're reading a book report.It bothers me that I feel this way because the subject matter and content are definitely something that I want my children to learn. It's socially conscious and globally relevant especially here in the United States. The illustrations are beautiful and really convey what the author is trying to say as well as very much look like their subjects. I hold out hope that as they age this book will become something they enjoy a little more.

Grandad Mandela is a picture book biography of Nelson Mandela with a storytelling approach. Mandala’s daughter is answering her two young children’s questions as about who their great grandfather was and what he did. Using this approach allows history and his life story to be told in a gentle and loving tone, in a way that is also not patronizing or preachy. Trying to explain apartheid or why there was government separation of blacks and whites is a topic that is not easy to tackle wth young children who have not lived through it ad who are not indoctrinated with such worldviews but this book makes the important attempt.A short picture book for children cannot ever answer everyone’s questions nor should it. Exposing children to history and biography is important and picture books should be jumping off points for further questioning and answer seeking through other learning activities and reading other books and using other source material, as is age-appropriate. The best thing a book can do is open up a line of discussion after providing material for a child to think about and process on their own, come to their own questions after piquing their curiosity. To learn and to know more in order to seek understanding is the goal of a book and its role in educating people of all ages.Illustrations by Sean Qualls were made with mixed media with collage, drawing, and painting. The color palette of soft muted earthtones and combining blues and neutrals brings a subdued and unified feeling to a book that is filled with tough issues of racism, police brutality, Mandala’s jailing, and prosecution of his children. The treatment of the illustrations allows tough topics to be discussed in the text while not appearing visually scary to children.The overall message of the book is helpful and that change can happen for the better even if it takes decades. I took this little book out of the library three times before I realized it is the reference I need to survive the spring. The best information are the individual listings of plants with an image in bloom and an image emerging. Basic enough for casual gardeners. She offers a follow up course for commercial growers.

Here in Massachusetts I have a huge gap between spring bulbs and the first flowers of summer. Lisa has introduced me to endless varieties of "cool flowers", those that can be planted indoors super early and planted in the field early as well. I am so grateful for this well-written book chock full of helpful details and great descriptions. A must have for flower growers or home gardeners!

Live in zone 4 or colder? You can skip this book. Here is what you will learn: you will have to start your flowers indoors from seed to have early spring blooms. If you are trying to grow flowers in the upper midwest or the northeast, you probably figured this out already. If you want more info about starting flowers from seed, I'd recommend some of her other books instead.The book is written for people in USDA hardiness zones 5-8, and I'm sure is a wonderful guide for those that do.

Although I've been growing flowers for a few years now, this is my first year as a "real" flower farmer. This book came highly recommended by many fellow flower farmers in a FB group I'm in. I am soooo glad I bought this book. I never could quite understand how I was supposed to have flowers for June markets when the growing season is really just starting then in my zone (and without a greenhouse). Lisa's book shares with you the easy magic of cool flowers. Who knew you could successfully over winter many, many types of flowers with just a little know how? This book has given me great confidence in my ability to meet my market's demands earlier in the season than I ever though possible. Thank you Lisa for this book!

This is a great book if you want to learn how to grow those hard to find cool season flowers. As an advanced master gardener, this was the most concise, easy to understand instructions on the subject I have ever found. The author also has a free virtual book study on her website which was also great information as many questions were answered/clarified. Very pleased with both her book and virtual book study. This book propelled me into the cut flower business! Lisa Ziegler explains in detail exactly what you should do from soil to seeds to planting to harvesting with pictures and facts. It is my "go to" reference for cool season flowers. Lisa's book is real life, down-to-earth, "this is how it works" business. Highly recommend!

As a grower in a northern state, with a short growing season, I had been searching for a book just like this! Lisa explains in a succinct, matter-of-fact style that is easy to understand and apply! The book includes a section (Ch. 5) dedicated to specific flowers you should grow. This chapter alone is worth purchasing! If you are a new flower farmer, or a hobby gardener in a cold climate, this book will be helpful. With lots of actual pictures from her own farm, you can see in detail what Lisa is explaining. Her social media presence (The Gardener' s Workshop) is also chalk-full of day-to-day cool flower growing examples. The book is compact and is currently sitting in my seed-starting room. I reference it often and only wish I had bought it sooner.

Great little book even for experienced growers. Lisa has an online free YT workshop series to go along with the book. I'm looking forward to implementing her recommendations.

I wanted to share this with all of you. We will all lose our pets at some point. If we are lucky it will be due to old age. It will not matter, it sucks and hurts, no matter what, when or how. Whether you are like me and just lost your pet, or you are still grieving a pet lost years ago or anticipating that one day your world will crash down on you when a dear pet leaves, it will uplift you and lighten your sadness. There is also a closed group on Facebook, Jack McAfghan Heart to Heart, where you can find support through this tough time and beyond. The picture is of my beautiful girl, Hannah, who is now with Jack.

This book is amazing. I purchased it a few days after we put our baby, Duke, to sleep. Duke was my everything. My husband traveled a lot, and so I was alone a lot before we got Duke. Once Duke came into our lives, our whole world changed. Duke was my best friend, my walking buddy, my bed partner (LOL). Duke followed me everywhere, and I talked to him like he was my own child. We moved from coast to coast three times, and he was the one that introduced us to our new friends and neighbors. No one was a stranger to Duke. And he was loved by everyone. I received sympathy cards from our friends on both sides of the US when he passed away... Anyway, I was shattered but I knew enough to know I needed to read this book... I needed some healing. There is something about connecting with a dog... when you know each other's souls so well... that can't be described - unless you are Jack McAfghan. Jack helps heal your broken heart from a beloved dog's perspective. You will cry a little. You will laugh a little. You will think about your fur buddy being gone in a new way... They aren't really gone. They are love - and love knows no boundaries, not living or dying. If you have been loved and given love - it doesn't go away. Thank you Jack, for easing my pain and sorrow. Jack..what an amazing boy. When I lost Kona this week, my heart shattered into one million pieces. Kona was my best friend, my entire heart. He was one of my children. We weren't expecting him to leave us yet. We didn't notice he was turning grey, until he was already there. We didn't notice him rapidly slowing down until it already happened. He never let us know he was hurting until he could not go anymore. When I read Jack's story, I saw my story almost to every detail. I laughed, I cried, I sobbed, then I had hope and peace. I still have Kona with me because the incredible bond between him and I. Jack gives us all the hope we could wish for when we lose our babies. I am thankful that this book found me when it did. I wish I would have known my time was getting short with him, but it's funny how our "dogs" because they are way more than that, are so selfless when it comes to us. He protected my heart for 11 years and through Jack, he is still doing that for me. Love you Kona Bear.

I ordered this book and received it the day before my beloved greyhound "Petunia" unexpectedly and quite shockingly went Home to the Rainbow Bridge. I couldn't read it for at least a week, as I was heartbroken over her. When I picked it up and began to read it, I couldn't put it down. I felt like she was speaking to me from the Bridge. This book has helped me work through my grief and know that she is still with me. I can't rave enough about this wonderful book - it is a MUST READ for anyone dealing with the grief of losing a pet. Wonderful!!!

The day I lost my Rosie , was the most horrible day of my life !!! Jack's book , written by his mom Kate !!! Is helping me through my grieving . He has taught me so many things on how to help myself to grieve my loss of my best friend Rosie !!! Jack's book is a book that you read over and over . Every time I read it I find new things . A friend sent me this book after I lost my dear Allie, my afghan hound, I was so absorbed with grief but began reading. This book reminds us how much our pets love us, no matter the circumstances. The book speaks to us through Jack, a happy dog and how he sees life and all the opportunities and good things it has to offer. Jack is comforting in his words of wisdom, he helps you understand the journey you will travel when you lose that precious pet. He also reminds you that love is all there is, when they are with you and after they have left this earth. It is comforting and I recommend it to anyone that has lost a pet. A lovely book that I will pass onto friends when they face that difficult time. I will read it again.

This is a MUST HAVE for anyone who has lost a beloved pet. The messages are clear and after 7 months of grieving I have finally begun to heal. I do still grieve but I understand a lot more since reading this book. I highly suggest you buying it if you have lost a pet. It is written by Kate McGahan but told through her dog Jack. 1/31/2016: I am now adding to my first review because I have purchased 12 more books. I plan on giving them to vet clinics, hospitals, and crematories. Anyone who has lost a beloved pet knows that you usually get a sympathy card. How great would it be to get a book that actually helps you heal? A card is just words which provides no healing. This book provides the healing that is needed for those that are grieving. This book has helped hundreds in the past 6 months alone. Give yourself or someone you love who has lost a pet this book of healing and moving forward. I lived with the loss of my soulmate alone and grieving until I got this book. My life has changed in a positive way and I will make it my mission to get it to as many people I can because I know how powerful Jack's message is.
