This book provides an excellent checklist for all new associates and any paralegals working with a supervising attorney, in Federal Civil Litigation. I wish I had such an extensive and comprehensive list when I first started out as a paralegal 23 years ago.
I was very impressed with this guide. It has some excellent tips for every step along the way of a civil case in Federal court. Preparing for trial and moving civil litigation ahead can be a very overwhelming process and staying organized is key. The section on deposition preparation was more than worth the price of the book alone. I highly recommend this book.
Wow!!! This provides a step by step checklist. This is a great resource to implement into your practice, so you ensure you did everything you need to do in discovery and trial preparation. The Trial Notebook section is amazing.
Great source for the layman
I have some of read Mr. Young's previous works and was pleased to receive and review this new Federal Court Civil Litigation checklist. For Nevada, this is likely the most detailed litigation checklist that I have encountered. The checklist contains detailed checklists for the commencement of proceedings from both the Plaintiff and Defendants side, and then provides a succinct yet fully detailed preparation of the Federal Court Case from Meet and Confer through Trial.Importantly, this book also addresses more current issues such as ESI infrastructure, preservation, and data/evidence retention matters that have changed significantly since the incorporation of paperless offices and new Federal Court rules addressing the same.Additionally, there is a great checklist on document and file preparation. While not specifically geared towards paralegals/legal researchers provides a perfect template of what a paralegal would need to do in order to prepare a file for discovery and trial.Although sometimes subtle, there are a significant number of differences between NRCP and FRCP, especially in the discovery context and I believe this book would be valuable for both the novice and experienced practitioner needing to update their own personal litigation checklists.
Great book to make sure you have covered everything for your client. The book makesit easy to be organized and prepared. Highly recommended this book.
Great book. Great tool. I wish I had been given something like this when I was a young attorney. A must have if you work in a litigation practice.
