In the past,I've bought books written by unfamiliar author's only to regret the money spent and time wasted. I bought this book when they forecast our winter storm thus terminating all possibilities to spend time in the saddle. Let me assure you, I neither wasted money nor time!! Awesome book!!!!!!! I can't wait to read book #3. Please, please, please write quickly. An equine book written by someone who actually has working knowledge about equines, refreshing. A true pleasure to read!! Thank you!
I was so excited when some women at my barn told me that a sequel to Where The Bluegrass Grows (Laurie Berglie's first novel) had been released! I ordered Kicking On that night and couldn't wait for it to come in the mail. This sequel did not disappoint!! Recommending this to the rest of my horse friends, and even the non horsey ones as well!
This book was a fun, light equestrian romance in a beautiful-sounding setting. I would definitely buy the author's next book. It also made me want to visit Maryland and Virginia!The reason the review is four stars and not five is because there were some typos and grammatical errors an editor should've caught. I also would have loved to see more detail about the foxhunting itself - what kind of people were there? What were the rules regarding attire? Was anyone riding sidesaddle? Rich details are the key to making an equestrian romance stand out and I would've loved to see even more!

Wonderful! Another excellent book from Laurie Berglie
I thoroughly enjoyed Laurie Berglie's first book "Where the Bluegrass Grows" and couldn't wait for the semi-sequel "Kicking On". It did not disappoint! I loved the slow build to the meat of this equestrian romance. Her characters are warm and true equestrians through and through. What moved me most about this book was the constant theme of living in the moment and to not take anyone or anything for granted. Now the question is when can I expect book three from this talented author? Highly recommend whether you are a horse lover or not!
